Farmer Assistants
All Farmer Assistants who use Class 2 or 3 pesticides on Ontario farms must be trained and supervised. Assistants include family members, farm employees and seasonal workers.
There are two ways for Assistants to get the training they need. They may:
- participate in a Grower Pesticide Safety Course and NOT write the exam, or
- participate in an on-farm training session presented by a qualified Assistant Instructor
Once trained, each Assistant is issued a training card that is valid for five years.
