Susan Kelner
Susan Kelner coordinates the program and teaches Pesticide Vendor Certificaton Courses in the Chatham-Kent area. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture (Plant Protection), a Masters degree in Library and Information Science, and a Masters degree in Education.
Nadine Langs
Nadine grew up on a farm in Burford, Ontario where she worked with tobacco and vegetable crops. She married into a small dairy farm operation, which they ran for 16 years. She and her husband, John are now involved with cash crops. Nadine also worked in the aviation field for 12 years gaining experience facilitating Health and Safety, WHMIS and Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance. That led her to updating her education and in 2008, graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Adult Education. " I really enjoy teaching the Pesticide Safety program. The diversity of the students and their "down home" personalities make my job very interesting. I often learn just as much from the farmers as they do from me!" Nadine joined OPEP in 2010 and is looking forward to many years of facilitating the program.
Don Ross
Don facilitates the Grower Pesticide Safety Certification Course in the northern part of Oxford county and surrounding areas. He is an honour graduate of the University of Guelph BSc (Agr) and with a major in Crop Science. After 35 years in the crop protection and seed industry Don is retired and lives near Innerkip. He is in partnership with his brother John on a small cash crop farm. Since retirement, experience has been gained by involvement in the Obsolete Chemical Disposal Program. With over 25 years’ experience facilitating adult learning, Don always learns something new at each course. Learning new ideas and skills is what makes this role so interesting.
