Do you custom spray pesticides for neighbours or other customers?

Your Grower Pesticide Safety Course certificate does NOT allow you to charge a fee for applying pesticides.

A Certified Farmer can apply Class 2 pesticides (except fumigant gases) or Class 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 pesticides on an agriculture operation that she does not own or operate on a regular basis as long as she:

  • is not paid any money for the application

  • uses only one piece of application equipment at any time and that piece of equipment is normally used on her own agriculture operation

  • does not apply the pesticide by aircraft

  • does not sell or leave any pesticide with the farmer

  • is not assisted by any person other than a Certified Farmer, and carries her own Grower Pesticide Safety Course certificate with them while using pesticides.

 If you want to charge a fee for agricultural custom spray work, you must have:

  • an Exterminator Licence (Agriculture Category) and

  • an Operator Licence
