Description of course types:

Course: An OPEP instructor teaches a full day course that includes the open-book test.
Course - Separate Exam: This option is the same as 'Course', with the added benefit to those who only want to write the test. Note: 'Separate Exam' participants must study the manual as they will not receive instructor support. When registering, please indicate 'test only' on the form.
Refresh and Write: A quick, one hour presentation highlighting important changes in regulations and / or best management practices followed by 2 hours to write the test. Studying prior to this course is essential. Suitable for people who are recertifying and those who are independent learners.
Online : "5-day GPSC" OR "10-day PVCC" online course is available on specific weeks throughout the year. Only start dates are shown in the list below. The course is divided into 5 modules, all of which are available on the first day the course opens. Each module contains reading material, videos, and assignments. Each assignment mark is added cumulatively so that by the end of the course, you have obtained the minimum of 75% to be awarded the certificate. It is recommended to complete one module per day to be submitted by 11 pm. You can work ahead if you like. Once an assignment or test is submitted, you no longer have access to make changes to your answers. To see how this works, please watch the GPSC demonstration video or the PVCC demonstration video. Once you sign up for an online course, you will receive a follow up email with further instructions that include creating the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) user account and set up multi-factor authentication tool, and the link to the course platform. Online accounts can take 3 days to create. Please watch your inbox, spam or junk folders for these important emails. Note: If a SCS's account is NOT completed by the Wednesday before the start of the course, you will need to sign up for the next available date.
